Do You Know What You Really Want?

by Jane Button on April 5, 2011

Decisions, decisions, decisions….we are so blessed to be able to have so many opportunitites in our lives. But when it comes down to it the opportunities are simply spinning around in space until a DECISION is made. And, guess what, a decision is not a decision until you actually commit.

And commitment means you are commited to the outcome – commited to the project – commited to the goal no matter what.

I've worked with many students and businesses, and I believe what separates those who are successful in reaching their goals and beyond vs those who are not is decisiveness and commitment and the willingness to take a leap of faith.

It's not just being decisive in anything – it's being decisive first and foremost in knowing what it is you want. It sounds so simple, and yet I see it daily, people making decisions based on other people's expectations not their heart's desire; or making decisions based on old beliefs.

I am reminded of the Zen Proverb, "Leap and the net shall appear."

My question today is, do you really know what you want? And if you know, are you leaping or patiently waiting for the net first?

Live your life with no regrets. Go for it!

Love your message!  Can you imagine the world with nets all list up encircling it, lighting up the skies with all who lept instead of waited?  There would be no night sky…  My favorite saying when preparing for a leap "Let's DO this!"
